#GIVINGTUESDAY is a national day of philanthropy.
Donate to support the free summer community service Farm Pantry Program by clicking on the Donate button.
Or give by volunteering. Join us for late season farming: plant garlic, make compost or harvest vegetables! Weather permitting, there are always ways to Be A Farmer here at Holly Hill Farm.
The Farm Pantry Garden Program was started in 2012 by Education Director Jon Belber to engage teens in learning about sustainable agriculture by growing organic produce to be donated to local food pantries. This week-long summer program is offered as a free community service opportunity. The Farm Pantry Garden Program just completed its third growing year, making 3 trips to Father Bill’s Place this past summer bringing almost 50 pounds of produce to feed shelter residents.
“Giving Tuesday enables communities to come together in caring concern for the well being of their members,” said Farm owner and resident Jean White. “At Holly Hill Farm, this includes teaching the value of sustainable farming principles that result in healthy food and responsible stewardship that protects the land.”
